CTP005-Community and Residential Care for Older People
An Overview of Community Services for Older People

Introduction:
Given diversified community services provided in Hong Kong, such as community support, residential care, medical health care, rehabilitation and housing services, some organisations implemented pioneer projects to meet the service needs and bridge the service gaps so as to provide a sense of security and worthiness for community-dwelling older people. This seminar aims at introducing the social welfare services for older people in order to meet the physical, psychological and social needs. It also serves the purpose to empower them to know more about how to access the community resources when they are in need.

  • Introducing community support services, financial support and concessionary schemes
  • Understanding the medical and rehabilitation care
  • Explain the existing housing policies
  • Procedures to apply for community care and residential care services
