Common joint disorders and fall prevention in older people

Introduction:
During a change in the weather, many older people may find crepitus and pain in their joints to be annoying. These symptoms often affect their daily activities. Furthermore, joint disorder may result in falls—a common problem in older people which can lead to serious injury. This seminar consists of two sessions: the first session will provide the participants with examples on some common bone and joint conditions and their self-management procedures. The second session will introduce the common causes and preventive methods for fall in older people.

  • Fall in older people: intrinsic and extrinsic factors
  • Effective measures on fall prevention
  • Effects of exercise on joint disorders and fall prevention
