CTP002-Psychosocial and Spiritual Care Mobilizing psychosocial resources to deal with major life events in old age
Introduction:
Aging is a challenging process during which older people have to face a number of major life events, such as unexpected illness/injury, conflict with family members, empty nest syndrome, and loss of spouse and good friends. These events may impact the psychological health of older people. Those older people with better psychosocial resources of older people are found to deal with the events more successfully. This seminar will discuss the possible major life events in later life and its impact on their psychological well-beings. Psychosocial resources that the older people possess will be introduced. Methods to enhance the resources to deal with the major life events will also be discussed. Content:
