CADENZA Project Study Reveals
Seniors in Hong Kong Lead a Healthy and Active Life
It is well-known that Hong Kong has one of the longest life expectancies in the world. Does it imply the seniors in Hong Kong have a healthy and active life?
To reflect how well the seniors in Hong Kong are doing, many aspects including lifestyle and social engagement have to be considered. The project CADENZA: A Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors completed the first study in Hong Kong which systematically compared the well-being of the seniors in Hong Kong with other countries. Study findings showed that the lifestyle, social engagement and health status of seniors is of a comparable level to other well developed economies.
CADENZA is a five-year project initiated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong (HKU), to prepare the Hong Kong society for an ageing population.
